The significant writing project that I chose to use for this website was my third major paper of the semester about Child prodigies and literacy experiences. This paper discusses the two paths that child prodigies follow as they move through their academic careers. There are two vastly different paths that child prodigies follow, the first is the more positive path, child prodigies who take this path continue to be good students and maintain an interest in literacy, often leading to a successful ending; the second is the more negative path, where child prodigies are soon caught up to by their peers and being to lose interest in literacy and adopt a “burn out” mentality academically, this students are often much less successful than the once had the potential to be.
I choose to use this paper for my significant writing project because I felt that this was my strongest paper of the semester. I also felt the most strongly about the topic of this paper. I believe that I made my most insightful revisions on this paper as well, this is because the ideas we discussed in class helped me to develop deeper ideas regarding my thesis.
