The paper that I chose to use for the significant writing project was the third major writing piece of the semester. In this paper I demonstrated my ability to work with documents and cite in MLA format. In this paper I had two different sources to cite, Alexanders’ “Successes, Victims, and Prodigies: ‘Master’ and ‘Little’ Cultural Narratives in the Literacy Narrative Genre,” and Williams’ “Heroes, Rebels, and Victims: Student Identities in Literacy Narratives.” I had to use both in text citations and citations in a bibliography at the end of the paper. Although I think that I still struggle with citations and formatting them I have a much better understanding of different types of citations and how to format them than I had in the beginning of the semester.
